Hey, I’m Lou!

How my journey began

I grew up on a British army base in the Mediterranean and quickly developed a passion for travel and the outdoor lifestyle – so it’s no real surprise that I ended up settling down on Sydney’s Northern Beaches! During my final year at university I started yoga and initially focused on the physical side of the practice – the poses (asana), strength, toning and flexibility.

Like the best of us, I got a bit lost in my late twenties, but yoga was there to break my fall and helped me to trust my intuition and find the right path. I packed my bags and chased my dream of living in Sydney, stopping off to travel around India on the way.

Stepping straight off the plane into a busy marketing role, I experienced recurring glandular fever. This provided a catalyst to slow down, listen to my body, explore natural therapies and to practice more gentle styles of yoga. I used yoga as medicine to heal my body and relax my mind, ultimately creating more balance, space and happiness in my life. I was keen to share this with others, so I completed my 360-hour yoga teacher training.

How I found freedom…

Yoga gifted me the ability to listen to my intuition, and so when motherhood arrived I left the corporate world in the pursuit of freedom, flexibility and fulfilment.

Now I share simple and practical tools to help busy folk like you move away from everyday survival mode, because I believe that everyone deserves a life that lights them up!

My students are encouraged to listen to their bodies, to tailor the practice for their own specific needs and to apply what they learn on the mat to their everyday lives.

My training includes a wide range of courses and workshops including those with Power Living Australia, Tiffany Cruikshank (Founder of Yoga Medicine) and Rainbow Kids Yoga.

I have found yoga to be an ever-evolving practice that changes with you – especially for women as they move through pregnancy, birth(s) and motherhood. To help facilitate this for others, I have completed Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training with Bliss Baby Yoga and have taught these styles for 7 years.

I am passionate about business strategy, sales and marketing, so when I’m not teaching yoga you’ll find me in my home office working on growing my business. You are also likely to spot me at the dog park, gym or at the beach with my husband Rhys and 7 year old daughter, Skye. A baby boy will be completing our family in June 2023.
